What Can Go In Your Skip Bin

Three types of waste, pretty straightforward. Get it right and avoid any nasty surprise charges. Plus it helps us keep being good recycling legends.

Clean Fill

Soil, concrete, rocks, bricks, clay, sand, clean tiles. Must be completely clean – no other materials mixed in.

Important: Mixed loads get charged as general waste. Keep it clean to save money.

Weight limits: 3m³: 3000kg | 4.5m³: 4500kg
Where it goes: Clean and hard fill is sent to designated cleanfill sites.

General Waste

Most household and building waste. Timber, plasterboard, packaging, furniture, carpets. No hard fill materials – this includes dirt, concrete, bricks, stone, rocks, sand, clay and soil.

No hard fill: Dirt, concrete, bricks will contaminate the load and cost extra.

💡 Tip: If you have items that might be reusable, place them on top of the skip and let our staff know on pickup. This helps keep good stuff out of landfill.

Garden Waste

Trees, plants, grass clippings, tree prunings and any other organic garden material. No food scraps.

Note: Materials that fall outside of this description will contaminate the bin, incurring a contamination fee.

Where it goes: All garden waste is sent to a processing site to be turned into soil, compost, bark, woodchips and other landscaping materials that you can buy at our site.

Skip Hire Questions

Can I put the skip on the street?

Sometimes you might need a permit from Auckland Transport if it’s going on the road. We can tell you if you need one when you book.

What if the skip gets too heavy?

We charge $20 per 100kg over the weight limit. Concrete and soil are heavy – might be worth considering a clean fill skip for that stuff instead.

How long can I keep the skip?

Three days minimum, but keep it as long as you need. We don’t charge daily fees – just give us a call when you’re done.

Weekend delivery?

Saturdays yes, Sundays no. Call early enough and we can usually get one out same day Saturday.

What can’t go in?

No liquids, chemicals, paint, oils, asbestos, or anything dodgy. Construction waste, household rubbish, garden waste – all fine. Give us a call if you’re not sure about something.

Can you pick it up early?

Absolutely. Call us and we’ll usually get it within 24 hours. No point keeping it longer than you need.

Skip Bin Terms & Conditions

Important stuff you need to know before booking. We try to keep it straightforward.

Your Responsibilities

You're responsible for the bin while it's on hire
Don't put non-permitted waste in the bin (liquids, hazardous materials, asbestos, etc.)
Don't fill higher than the top level - we can't transport overloaded bins safely
Don't move the bin or use it for anything other than waste disposal
No burning waste in the bins
Make sure there's safe access for delivery and pickup

Weight & Damage Charges

Access & Placement

You need to ensure safe access and stable ground for delivery and pickup
We're not responsible for damage to surfaces - protect your driveway if needed
Driver places the bin where practical - we're not liable for underground services damage
Make sure the bin is visible and has appropriate warning signs
Road placement requires an Auckland Transport permit (your responsibility)
We may refuse to enter a site if it's not safe

Bookings & Cancellations

Cancel at least 24 hours before delivery or pay 50% cancellation fee
No refunds if we arrive and can't deliver due to access issues
If paying by credit card, you authorize us to charge for bin costs, overweight charges, and any additional fees
Bins remain our property - we can enter your property to reclaim them if needed
